Happy Valentines Day!

Our day has been a very happy one. One filled with special tokens of love with chocolate, flowers, and time together, topped by a special dinner out. However, I feel like every day of our married bliss has been so special because love has been shown in the times of great fun and also in the challenges of life.

True love is always looking for ways to give. Lust will never be satisfied no matter how much it receives. When someone gives what they hold dearest for someone else, we know that they have true love. God so loved us that He GAVE His only Son (see John 3:16). We cannot truly love others without understanding the love of God and receiving it from Him first! Genuine love comes not from our own hearts but from the overflow of God’s love to us.

Jesus said, “Love one another; as I have loved you” (John 13:34). This is the key to love—It is an overflow of the love that Christ has poured out to us. No more is it simply our human love functioning but we become a channel of God’s love to our spouse. The more we know God’s character and His goodness, the more our love for Him and others will grow! If love is all about giving, what valuable things do you give your spouse? No, we are not talking about finances, but rather spiritually, mentally, emotionally, and physically. How often do you consciously take time to give of yourself for them? Hopefully, this Valentine’s Day will be a springboard into a long season of love-filled relationships.

  1. Thank you for sharing your lives (and adventures) with us
It is an inspiration to watch a true example of a Godly marriage. It’s evident that you not only love one another but also like and respect each other. I hope more people will follow your example.. Looking forward to meeting the newest member of the family. My prayers are with you. Much love and God Bless all (three) of you!
