Thanksgiving in Florida always has it’s special traditions as the Kellers host family and friends. This year was no exception as we did their annual Thanksgiving chain. It is a very simple but meaningful tradition where each person in the family writes down one thing they are thankful for from throughout the year. Each person adds to their chain in the days leading up to Thanksgiving. Finally, when Thanksgiving arrives the chain is usually quite long, especially since each member of the family tends to be a little competitive adding many links a day as they think of new items to be grateful for.
This year, as we sat down to a wonderful turkey dinner, the chain was used as the decor around the top of the room and once the dessert was served we began to take the chain down and go through each item and recount story after story of the ways God provided. Allowing each one to read a few links of their chain as we went around the room, we could not help but recount so many fun memories. Someone did happen to bring over a nice pecan pie πΒ for all of us to enjoy.

It looks like you had a wonderful time!! The Thanksgiving chain is something I have done with my Sunday School children, but I have never thought of bringing it into my home. Very cool tradition and one that we will have to start in our family next year! Thanks so much!
