4th of July in California

This year we were privileged to celebrate the Fourth of July in California. We were in California primarily for a Family Conference, but because the holiday was simply the  set-up day for the event, we took the evening to celebrate the festivities.

Paul and Davia enjoyed the sparklers so much while waiting for the big display over the California Expo! We also had time to hand them out several hundred Gospel tracts to those waiting nearby and wish them a happy Independence Day. We are so blessed to live in a free country where we have the freedom to love the Lord and openly share the gospel with others.

While our goal was to enjoy the main fireworks show, I think the children enjoyed the small fireworks even more than the big ones because they had a part in it all.

Our spot on a street corner was perfect place to enjoy the fireworks and still get to our vehicle before too much traffic impeded our exit to bedtime for the children.

Sacramento Family Conference

We were blessed to not only help organize the Family Conference but also have the opportunity to share messages during the conference. Families today are hungry for Christian fellowship and good teaching from God’s Word. 

Paul was so excited to join the Children’s Institute each day and tried his best as the youngest child in the group to join in on the activity and craft.

On the last day of the conference, the children quoted Psalm 8 and sang several songs. Paul really enjoyed being a part of the group.

Family Connections Tour

Similar to the last two years, we are headed out on the road for the Family Connections Tour for two months. We will be preaching in many different places all throughout the US and even into Canada. We are looking forward to seeing many familiar faces and meeting new friends.

As we drove out to California, we were able to conduct a few meetings on the way out. Here Paul and Davia claimed the stairs into the RV as a make-shift breakfast table.

Memorable moments on the RV are always fun to capture. Our sunglasses moment came just after David finished a long driving stint and stepped back to play with the children. He forgot to take off his glasses so Paul grabbed his glasses. Davia felt left out until Priscilla found hers and gave them to Davia.
David’s sister Rebecca (Far left) was a real blessing on this first leg of the trip. She will be staying back to hold things down on the home front while we are on the road.

This first meeting on the road was in Los Angeles area and was hosted by a very gracious Asian community of believers. Of course everyone was invited to come.

Times of prayer were had as we put into practice the message that was shared on the importance of prayer.

Outside, the young men had many opportunities to learn character and discipline through the Alert Cadet Encounter.
Relay games and exercises were done as teams to help the young men learn life lessons.
The young men seemed glad to have their energy expended and to learn from the older men.

Among the messages shared, David shared a message on the importance of God’s grace in the life of every believer and two attitudes that are enemies of God’s grace–pride and bitterness.
David’s brother Samuel has been a huge help in the A/V side of the meetings.

Paul and Davia truly enjoyed getting their wiggles out on the church playground before the Dallas Family Connection meeting. Visiting an Indian Reservation

A memorable stop for us is the special time we had on the Navajo Indian Reservation in Window Rock, Arizona.A few of the families who originally invited us to come, stayed and we talked for some time after the service. They asked for a group picture even though it was getting dark.

Welcome, Timothy Isaac Waller!

When we arrived back home, we were thrilled to go over to David’s oldest brother’s home and see their latest child, Timothy Isaac Waller. He was born on Priscilla’s birthday.
