1st Year Anniversary

Today marks one year since we were married. So much has happened in these busy but fun filled days. Wow, a year sure has flown by. We will have to calculate again, but as of last count we have been gone more than we have been home, but the good thing is that we have gone everywhere together. In fact, that was one commitment we made at the beginning–we would not do any travel during our first year of marriage if it required us to be separated. It has truly been the best year of our lives. There are so many lessons that we have learned in growing deeper in our relationship together, but with each one it has grown sweeter.

Congratulations to you both. I hope you had a wonderful anniversary. It has certainly been an eventful year for you! I hope many more blessed years together are to come!

  2. I’m looking at your lovely pictures and I just have to ask… what is that on your coffee table? It looks like scrambled eggs and tuna! Pregnancy cravings??

I have had the privilege of working in a ministry setting for the past six years here in the States and for a couple years over seas. God provides for all of our needs and has done so graciously!

  8. Wow the year has flown by and to think next year your son will be able to celebrate it with you! Congratulations and God bless the many, many, many more years together that you have ahead of you!

    God bless you all!
Lots of love from all the family!

  9. You’ll never have another first anniversary – it’s great to celebrate each of these moments and milestones. Often I see the two of you wearing matching colours, can I ask the reason? Do you both just enjoy matching?

  10. Congratulations. I especially like your commitment to avoiding travel apart from each other.

There’s always a little fallacy in an old bachelor giving marriage advice, but here goes. Be really, really careful about travel that separates you after that first year of marriage. I would encourage you to at least maintain the spirit of that commitment in subsequent years as well, even if it requires refocusing your ministry, etc. Hopefully this isn’t too intensely personal for a public forum. The stories that come to mind to illustrate don’t belong in public.

    God bless you guys.

  11. The cake looks absolutely delicious…looks like german chocolate with a coconut frosting…but do you not follow the tradition of eating the top layer of your wedding cake on your first anniversary???
